To swap or not to swap barrels

I'm wanting to replace an LMT 10.5" barrel (1:7) with an 11.5" match barrel (1:8) in Wylde. I tend to shoot cheaper 55g and was wondering if the lower twist would be better suited.
The barrel I was considering was the Maple Ridge Match Series. I cannot find a lot of info on the LMT barrel so I'm not sure how they compare quality wise and if this is a smart move.
TIA for any advice.

As mentioned above, 1:7" is fine for 55 gr. LMT is a quality brand, and you're not looking for sub-MOA 500m accuracy anyway, so I don;t think you'd gain much from a barrel swap.

One thing to keep in mind is that it's not the twist rate that creates bullet stability—it's the rotational speed of the bullet, which comes from the combination of twist rate and muzzle velocity. From what I've read, a 10.5" loses about 300 fps compared to a 16", or around 10%, so that means a bullet fired from a 10.5" long 1:7" twist barrel is rotating 10% slower than a 16" barrel with the same twist (and even more slowly compared with a 20" barrel). For that reason I always want to go with a fast twist on a short barrel.

i believe Lmt uses Rock Creek barrels. Dont know much about Maple Ridge but suspect they are budget compared to the Lmt. my 10.5 lmt eats anything i put through it like a champ.

The only reasons you should be looking to change your barrel is:
A) you’ve shot out your barrel and it is minute of target at 50m, or
B) you have money burning a hole in your pocket and you want someone to help justify you pissing away your money.

It is unlikely to be the former...
