So I just picked up my first 10/22 last weekend. Haven't shot it yet, going to the range today.
My purpose for buying it in the first place are as follows- I want to build a reliable survival rifle.
My criteria are; durability and reliability (10/22 platform), small and light, ammo good for small game that is light to carry so I can have lots (22LR), I want to put a scope on it with flip up iron sights as a back up.
I know I can achieve all this with just the wood stock and throw a scope on it and I'm done……. But…. I do love the look of the Nomad.
What my question really is…. Will the Nomad Kit add any bonuses to my build other than cosmetics? Such as the two small storage areas? Is it a more durable stock than the wood one? How much shorter is it? Would there be disadvantages if I do it just for the looks? Is it heavier? Do butler creek mags work diferently in it?
