to takedown or not that is the question

The more I see of the Magpul the more interested I am in it. Is it too ambitious of me to think about assembling a custom right from the get go? One youtube video I saw had a young lady put one together from ordered parts, (or so it claimed), literally in minutes.

Not at all. They are really basic in nature.

Receiver
Bolt and charging handle
Trigger group
Barrel
Stock

After that it's scopes and slings and all that fun stuff. But the gun itself? Just those things. It's a little more complicated but not much. Need a vblock to hold barrel on, inch pounds for all the screws - but take your time and do it right and I bet you get a better shooter.

My fav is the 10/22 take down lite. Mine is shooting MOA at 50 yards (.5 inch groups or better) and for me it's all the 10/22 I need. I do have a target tactical in the mail on its way right now though.

Thing is, you just can't have one :)

I found my takedown exactly as accurate as any out of the box ruger. But the takedown feature hasn’t amounted to anything more than a slightly shorter bag in a huge pile of gear. Still though it takes down, so that’s cool right?
