Anyone put on a different stock and forend? PLEASE HELP!
I bought a hogue stock and forend. Love the stock, easy to install, but I can't get the damn forend off to install the hogue one! How does this mother F$&#ER come off!? It looks like there's a nut on the front of it that unscrews but I can't get it to budge! How does it come off and what did you use to get it off?

Thanks in advance!

You can buy a special tool or use needle nose pliers like me
You will need to sand down the inside of the foregrip to get it too fit theres tons of threads on this.

Sorry i editied my post since i didnt read it properly sorry but look at my revised post.

Why didnt I think of needle nose pliers! You're a genius! Thank you so much! I'm going to do the sanding on the weekend but I'm so happy I at least figured this out.
However, this whole experience made me realize I need the 12" short LOP stock, not the standard. Apparently my arms aren't as long as I thought they were

Did yours not come with this tool? Mine did, its for removing the end cap on the barrel, as well as the nut on the fore grip.

Hey Matt491, you should post pictures of your process so that others might not have to deal with what you did. That would be kind! I was also consodering the hogue foregrip

I'm curious What's the length of your arms?

Matt491:

Bring your forend assembly and your M14 up here, we will tweak them both. Send me a PM. I have the 870 forend tool to replace that handguard on the pump arm assembly. :D

I got yer backs!

Cheers,
Barney

We just had 30 forend removal tools arrive. You don't have to remove the action bars from the receiver, they slide over the mag tube. They should be on the website this week. Rem 12ga, 20ga and Mossberg.

S&J Hardware sells a tool for removing the forearm nut. Costs about $10. Depending on how tight the nut is you can kludge it with a pair of needle nose pliers jaws or something like that. However, using the proper tool always makes a job easier.

If the Grizzly is anything like the Norinco (and I think it's more or less exactly the same) you may also find that factory forearm fits very tightly over the mag tube. It may take some force to slide it off.

Also, the mag tube is slightly larger in diameter than an 870 tube. Forearms made for the 870 may have to be sanded or filed in order to fit.

OK, so I tried using needle nosed pliers to remove the forend nut. The damn thing won't bugde at all. Short of buying a forend removal tool, is there anything else I can do to loosen the nut?

I used the bolt slide (inside the receiver...so the SG has to come apart to get it) to remove the nut...easy peasy!

If you are talking about part #57 (slide block/slide assembly) in the owner's manual, it's is too narrow. i tried it before my first post hoping it would work. I don't know if there would be a difference, but do you have a supermag version? I have an older 2 3/4" wingmaster.
