to the dominion arms grizzly owners

Ah...there's the difference. This was a call out to DA Grizz owners...and I have one and used it as I mentioned (yes, part #57). I think I had read somewhere that the true 870's had a couple different sizes based on what year the SG was made. Some work, some don't. However, that would be speculation (as I dont' own a true 870). The other way I've heard it being done is with a wide woodworking spade bit (for drilling a largish hole). Again, this is just something I've heard (not seen), if you're looking for an alternative to buying the tool. You could probably use anything wide enough and strong enough to crank on.

Update on this! I got mine off with needle nose pliers. Ingenious solution. My shotgun did NOT come with that little tool posted on page 1 or 2.
The hogue stock DOES NOT FIT without modification. The inside needs to be sanded lightly and it will pop on no problem. I did not sand mine as I was installing the new Eotech IFL (which there are pictures of in the black/green shotgun section, EXTREMELY happy with it). The Eotech IFL was snug but didn't need any modification to fit and it's an amazing piece of hardware.

SO! If anyone wants to buy a full length hogue stock and forend, check my ad in the EE.
If people still have problems getting that nut off, I can post pics, I suppose.

Matt491:

Bring your forend assembly and your M14 up here, we will tweak them both. Send me a PM. I have the 870 forend tool to replace that handguard on the pump arm assembly. :D

I got yer backs!

Cheers,
Barney

Barney, I'll be sending you a PM. I'm going to take you up on this. I haven't been up north in ages, I think it's time for a road trip. We'll discuss your fees. (aka, how much beer you want me to bring)

I didn't have to sand down my hogue forend when I installed it onto my grizzly. I simply slid it on as far as I could with just my bare hands. When I couldn't wiggle/twist it on any further I hit the action release and racked the snot out of it a couple times until the forend was completely seated. Reinstalled the forend nut with needle nose pliers and took it shooting. I've done this on 1 norc and 2 DA griz. :)
