Just picked this up as a beater bush gun, possible candidate for a barrel chop. However some issues, stock is cracked, firing pin broken and one other screw that is in the side plate that holds the sear? under tension is snapped.

Anyone have any ideas on leads for parts in Canada or should this old beauty, she have nice engraving btw which is stopping me from a chop down, be hung up or sold for parts.

Regards

I would resist the temptation to saw down a piece of Canadian firearms history. Tobin arms guns may not be the most finely engineered guns ever but they are pretty cool. As far as parts go, you will likely have scrounge up a donor or have parts made by a machinist or gunsmith. What's got me intrigued is the "pigeon" designation and the talk about engraving. Most Tobins I have seen are somewhat plain. You may have a rare one that deserves better than the hack saw.
FYI, it is likely tightly choked and short chambered too...have it checked.

Well got off the horn with Western Gun Parts and they have nothing for it, which pretty much coincides with the availabilty of information on the internet. I;m not going to saw her down, the engraving she has is pretty enough to stop me from doing that, but I think I will put her up for sale if only to get my money back.

What part of Canada? I've seen Nick Mackinson's shop and he was doing a restoration on a nice Tobin. Nick works west of London in Komoka ON
