Today i took home the paperwork for my first pistol-a SIG Sauer 1911-22. It's not the flashiest, most expensive, or most sought after pistol, but it will be mine. I hope that it cycles, and that the sights are in the neighbourhood.

I'm super pumped. See you at the range.

Congrats! You won't look back on buying a Sig, even if its the 22 1911! Just a recommendation start with the CCI mini mags in 22LR, they will cycle without any problem in your 22 (Ive got 2 GSG 1911 22's and haven't had an issue)!
 
Great start...you will love it...as stated..break it in with minimags...then mine has run flawlessly with federal 525 bulk packs...still shoot mine more often than not...enjoy..
 
Congrats on your first, I have a Sig 1911-22 with well over 6000 rounds thru it, great gun that everyone I take enjoys shooting, as mentioned, mini mags for the first 1000-1500, after that pretty much anything will go bang
 
Jseaman, we here at CGN have a tradition where you will have to post a couple of photos of your feet sneaking up on your new pistol (socks optional). Congrats, now go and post some pics.
 
Great purchase for a first handgun. I always recommend new handgun shooters start with a .22 and work up from there. I see a P226 in your future. :)
 
Grats. The Sig 1911 22 was my first too, loved it. The slide is a zinc alloy, so after the break in, maybe think about lower velocity to prolong the life of the slide, particularly the slide catch area.
