I picked up a great big thick pewter dish for 2 bucks the other day. Weighs almost 5 pounds on it's own. I think people figure I am weird reading the backs of all the metal dishes I find. They sure make a lot of candle sticks out of lead also.

Lady had a whole stack of pewter picture frames here and figured I must have kids when I bought them all as they said things like daughter and grandchild on them. Didn't want to break her heart.

People try to sell them here for that also. They sit for a long time. Auction in June I bought all the second and third lots of pewter they sold as the first lot went to high and it was the worst pieces. So got a whole box of steins for 6 bucks. Guy asked me if I planned on reselling them yea right.

Yea |I see pewter in the thrift shops but the prices are WAY high. I grab them If I find a cheap one but I dont use a lot of tin in my mix

In my area in BC, I pick the mugs up for $2.99 in most thrift shops, I've got about 80 lbs melted into ingots ready to go.

I get a strange look when they ask if I want it wrapped up and I say no, it's getting melted down. When asked into what, depending onhow I feel, sometimes I say bullets and sometimes it's figurines.
