Today's joyous event: Cooey Model 82

Thanks Lou,

I will have to go have a look at mine to see if it is the same.

I have been thinking of trying to make a replacement rear sight,
Should't be too hard to spin up on the lathe.

I have a nice 82. I also have a friend who provided me with the correct aperture site. I have not mounted it yet. My question is- was the open site removed when the aperture site was installed. I've had both for a number of years and just never got around to doing it. Maybe it's time.

The couple I've had had both sights in place. No need to remove the barrel rear sight.
The 2 rears can co witness.

This one is mine. It's a tack driver. Took first place in a 50 meter match out of a field of thirty plus shooters this past summer.

Just finished a model 82 today - my own joyous event of the day! Every milsurp or Canadian collector should have one in their arsenal, this is my second and another one in the gun cabinet as a project.
