No problem , they are a fine game bird and a great excuse to be out wandering the fall woods in all it's splendor..........Harold

I got a couple this weekend as well.

Left the rest of the family raking leaves, and spent a few hours riding the trails on the quad.

Didn't see much on the main trails as there were tons of guys out with the long weekend, and the 20 degree weather.

Off onto the less known trails, and some short hikes through the bush in a couple spots bagged enough for dinner anyways.

I still find it funny you guys using shotguns though!

Around the cottage these things don't fly until you shoot em. They just prance around 10-15m away waiting to be shot! LOL

Headshots are the way to go, but the one I hit low flew off crashing into the woods 20m away. He was a ##### to find, to say the least.

I usually use a Weihrauch 80/.22 pellet gun but the numbers are so low in Central AB I hate to miss any.We dip the breasts in scambled eggs, then Ritz cracker crumbs, brown /not cook both sides and add a cup of cereal cream/milk.Turn down to simmer with the lid on for 30-40 min then prior to serving add a good shot of red cooking sherry/wine .The sauce thickens and serve on a bed of rice...............Harold
