Man this is a tedious cartridge to reload. The Starline brass mouths aren't even square and shorter than the S+B boxer primed brass.I have a 3 die set made by C+H. Never thought you would have a expander die for brass with a shoulder.Tried loading some without using it and bullets were way out of wack.Seating crooked.Using Hornady 86gr .They are very short OAL. Eventually got things tuned and will try some at the range tomorrow.AA#7 powder.

At 7.7 gr of AA#7 with the 86gr bullet I shot about 2" groups at 15 yards off the bags. Not snappy enough to cycle the action so may have to increase the charge or perhaps down the road try heavier slugs. At least I found all my brass!
Upped charge of AA#7 to to 8.7gr and action cycled flawlessly maintaining 2" groups.Win 296 turned out to be the best powder in my gun.

I have 500 Starline 7.62x25 brass so should be OK for a while .Not sure I want to diddle with shortened .223 brass unless brass supply warrants it. A guy on the castboolits forum FL sized either 9x21 or 9x23 cases can't recall off hand. AA#7 is a go too powder with a lot of people in the Tok so I may step up in bullet weight with M1 bullets in the 100-110gr range.Half the fun is getting the load where you want it.What was your OAL with the Berry's 110gr if you have it handy?I'm using C+H .30 mauser 3 die set. These are very nicely made and the first set I've owned .Saw data for a .224 sabot load but nobody is getting accuracy from those just speed!I have 1000 .30/.224 sabots somewhere. Thanx Harold

I've just started to reload this round. The Hornady 86gr bullets are crap. Found the best bullet is Berry's bullet for the .30 carbine 110gr. I'm using 5.8 grains of Unique in a trimmed down .223 case

What is the OAL with the 110gr bullet? Did you have to ream the inside of the necks after forming? You-Tube has a step by step tutorial.

What is the OAL with the 110gr bullet?

Well I looked through my manuals and the biggest pill they lis is 96 grains. I also couldn't find OAL of 110 grain bullet on the net.

I would seat them to the max COAL and start with a low powder charge and work your way up slowly.
