tokarev owners..what is this guy doing?

hey , i got one and i don't get it either- looks like he simplly cleared the weapon by cycling the slide- i've had a few stick on me halfway back, but that's not how you clear that

His description of the video....

DESCRIPTION: The TT33 (for those who are not familiar with it) is a simplified M 1911 design. So why is it a damn Tokarev in 9x19 and not our good old .45 ? - some peope will ask. Well simply because I had two of these "guns" in stock. So I could start right off. And if something should go wrong (it didn't), breaking some of these zinc alloy parts... there was a chance for a second try. And since the Tokarev doesn't have a barrel extension that assists in feeding as most any other pistols with browning locked breech have, it is a good example for maximum feeding reliability under the worst technical conditions.

First I equipped the original oversized chamber with a steel tube insert. Machined to correct specs - new 9mm shells fall free if you turn the barrel upside down, fired brass has to be pulled out a bit. No tricks that will aid in feeding! For my german visitors: This is still the original zinc alloy dummy barrel, not bored through and not a barrel as defined by the law.
Secondly I filled the feed ramp with a steel insert. So the mouth of the chamber looks like a tube cut off straight.
As a result of this unramped barrel and using an original (unaltered) magazine the pistol won't even feed regular FMJ round nose ammo. The bullets catch against the non-existent feed ramp at the lower (6 o'clock) end of the chamber mouth. Even by increasing the angle of the mag follower I couldn't achieve any feeding at all.

So how can this doesn't-feed-anything piece be turned into a takes-no-matter-what performer? Well... watch the video.

No polishing feed ramps. No ramped chambers leaving the cartridge case unsupported in this area, possibly leading to blown or even ruptured cases. And of course no feed jams anymore, choose whatever bullet shape you want.
And in 9mm because an easy to feed bottleneck case like the original 7.62x25 would have been way to easy...

Due to several questions (thanks for your interest) - there are NO ADDITIONAL PARTS.

Looks like the barrel is pinned towards the muzzle(?)

so in other words he's gone a re-watted a tok- i dounno about the rest of you guys but my tok feeds factory ammo NO PROBLEM- and the 9mm is NOT AN OVERSIZED chamber either- also i have NO ZINC ALLOY PARTS IN MY CHINESE TOK- it's all steel- from the sounds of things, a dewat where he is has the barrel replaced by a zinc alloy tube in order to be considered a dewat

Came across the video at youtube...what exactly is he getting at?? I don't own a Tok yet, so I dunno what mods he made here. Thoughts?

The point of the video is to show that a feed ramp is not necessary using his special modified magazine (which he won't divulge what modification he has done to it). He is trying to show that without a feed ramp, his modification to a magazine then allows this gun to chamber any shape bullet flawlessly. He is keeping the modification he has made to the magazine a secret because he believes this modification is worth something and he is not about to give away the secret for free. The fact the the gun is non-firing is not the issue here.

Bottom line...who cares!

again an answer to a non -existant question- the 7.62x25 mag feeds 9mms with no problem , and i'm using semiwadcutter 130 grain- not rns, or fmjs

He made a barrel balnck with a blunt chamber - no feed ramp. The worst possible type of chamber.

Apparetly, withthe original mag it would not even feed a FMJ.

Then he loaded wadcutters, etc. in his modified magazine (note how he hides it in his hand when he loads it.) This modded mag fed everything perfectly into the bad chamber.

he is demonstrating his new magazine.

He used a replica gun becasue he is not allowed to make mods to a real gun.

I have already prepared a letter offering to buy his secret through my Nigerian operations. All he needs to do is send me his banking information and I will deposit $11M US dollars.
