im a bit confused, in the future why cant part kits be shipped from china to canada directly? also if these are old stock why does it have to go overseas for disassembly, cant your gunsmith do it?
Norinco doesn't do parts kits, only complete guns. We can no longer register firearms in Canada due to the import ban. The workaround for this is we have the firearms from China go to Europe, have the parts removed from the frame, then re-exported to us in Canada.
Old stock doesn't have to go overseas for disassembly, we disassemble it in house and do a reverification on the frame.
There are two ways forward on this project;
1) We use parts kits as a liquidation measure, sell what we have and don't bother restocking, in which case we could let these go at a lower price
2) We choose to continue to provide parts and service for these pistols in as long as we can, in which case the price must be equal or near our replacement cost price.
We opted for option two because our goal is to keep as many live guns in civilian hands as possible. We don't want to cede this space to the Federal Government and let them push us out of a market without at least trying to work around the new changes.
