I have a Tokarev pistol that I bought about 15 years ago. I think I bought it from Marstar but might be mistaken. It looks like in new condition but not sure what version it is. It does not have the date marked next to serial number and it does not have a safety. It also has the narrow grooves on the slide. I thought it might have been a Chinese Type 54 but I dont know. Anybody know what I have?... The registration wasnt any help... Just says Tokarev

My type 54 is simply described as tokarev too... ...does it have a roll pin holding the firing pin in or is it a split pin, solid on one end and slot on the other.

The pin holding the firing pin is slotted at one end but it is completely hollow
You can see through it. The slot is only at one end though

You are absolutely right! I thought that it was just a roll pin on mine. Same grips with no letters around the star. The serial number in about the same place/format, but mine stars 46 and a bunch of zeros. The only real difference I have on mine is the norc factory wrote a novel on the slide.
