I just bought a 1945 Tokarev T33 from Wolverine Supplies, what a great place to shop!
I am using bxn surplus 7.62x25 ammo, I know it is corrosive, is the bore of the pistol chromed?
I looked through my ammo cupboard and found a box 25 Finnish shells, looked closer, the caseheads are marked Dominion 38 Special.
It must have been a tedious job making 7.62x25 brass from 38 Special!
Also I had trouble getting the gun back together, the recoil spring "bellied out" when I tried to compress it. I guess I need a new recoil spring.
To remove the cosmoline, I used Castrol Super Clean Engine degreaser works 100% and does not harm the hard rubber grips, which I could not remove for fear of breaking them.

Watch some youtube video's on reassembling her - I have three of these beauties and they're very easy to take down and put back together and once you get the swing of it, you'll be doing it in under thirty seconds, easy. Buy yourself another one! Nothing is more fun then having a TT33 in each hand at the range ;)

Yes but, is the bore chromed? I'd like to know as I am using corrosive ammo.
Anyway, I'll clean the bore as if it was not chromed. 1945 Russian TT33.

As far as I know, the TT33 never came with a chromed bore...I have a Norinco 213 (TT33 copy, in 9mm) that does, but I don't think the Russian wartime pistols did. (Pls correct me if I'm wrong, anybody)
