Tokarev TT-33 ordered from Kelly's Sporting Goods

I got mine today, was a nice surprise!

It goes nicely with my new SVT40

Came in a case, all ready to go to the range. Although I may keep it un-fired.

Seriously thinking about ordering one of these, my problem is the ammo. Is all surplus steel core? Not good for indoor range? My only option here is an indoor range.

Got mine this morning (ordered 12/31/2012). It's not as shiny as some I've seen posted here - has some fine scratches and scuffs, and the trigger has some... scuffing? But I'm totally happy with it. Shot my old Russian one today. Next time up I'll shoot them both and see how they compare.

Is this one from Kellys? Does look more like a refurb, what year is it? Maybe you got a gem, as in it was used for testing or something! Have you had it apart! Still nice and has the deeper blue oval mark most I have seen on it ( from bluing process or storage I would guess) on the forward part of slide, these are really nice guns for the price!!

It is from Kelly's. It's a 1953. I have had it apart and I think it may have been shot some (judging by the wear on the trigger and other clues). I'd swear I see pitting in the barrel, but I've only done a quicky clean on it so far. Until I really clean it good I'm not sure. The first patch through the barrel came out with a bunch of green on it. Hmm...

After reading this thread I broke down and ordered one from Kelly's and ordered another case of ammo to go with it. I already have two Norinco 54's and a Russian TT33 refurb, a 1911 in 7.62, plus a PPSh41, so more ammo is always a good idea.

Today the fellow shooting beside me (Polaris) was shooting his new Polish pistol with the same S & B ammo I just ordered, so I borrowed it for a "preview" of mine. I sure hope mine is as good as his!

The trigger was crisp and not too heavy. Much better than my Norincos and the Russian I have. The group at 25 yards was also better than my pistols. It shot to the left, but elevation was perfect. A couple whacks with a hammer and it would be perfect.

The green may be cosmo, but it looks like it was used and put back, they were sitting around a warehouse for 60-ish years C,ould happen!! mine were covered with a very thin film of cosmo-like stuff, and looked like greenish brown crap. Not much on it though, some corners and crannys had a bit more buildup! It shouldn't have been shot except for testing, you could show/talk to kellys about it, they are a great bunch!

Dark spots are hardened areas on the slide (such as where the barrle lugs lock into) and the blue takes differently there. Also seen on Garand receivers and 1911 slides when still in original finish.
Does this example have the normal Polish 11 oval marking? I can't make out the serial. Does it lack the 1 or 2 letter prefix?

No idea when or where the case of 7.62x25 lead core came from. I have several cases of that caliber and I am guessing I got it all at the same time. It is in spam cans and all I can see on the cans at the back of the shelf is the felt marker caliber I wrote on the end of the cans.

The only reason I bought the new case is that since I shoot on both indoor and out door ranges, it would make sense to shoot steel outdoors so the lead core will last longer.

Well... crap! I think I may have got the lemon of the batch. The barrel is definitely pitted.

The slide lock doesn't work - I can see where the metal is peened from it slipping - and it didn't get peened like that from my one try at it. If I put the slide stop from my Russian TT in the Polish gun it works fine. The Polish one is angled (bent? defective?) out slightly from the slide (the pin isn't exactly 90 degrees from the stop part). Maybe I can put it in a vise and tap it or put a wrench on it to bend it to 90 - not sure if that's a good idea or not. I'm worried that it might just break. Though... what difference does it make? If it breaks I needed a new one anyway. Might try it.

Yes, it has the Polish 11 oval. The serial starts with BMO, or is it BM with a zero and the other four digits following?

Mine showed up on Friday from Kelly's as well, not as crisp and clean as I had hoped, 1950 with lots of brown patina,
havent cleaned it yet, but I will shortly and verify the barrel, kinda thought I would have had a minty one as I ordered I thought just before the rush, and was told the nicest ones were being picked out of the case first, all in all for the price I'm still happy, they packed my extra mags I requested with it, thru in a hard case to boot, Kellys was always more then accomodating when I called in so they get a thumbs up here.
