Well after some serious cleaning it appears I do have very minimal pitting and staining in the bore,
at first it looked worse then it was but I think most of it was some old dried up cosmo esp up along side the lands
and once cleaned and snaked and picked at a bunch of times it started to crumble and fall out.

Any chance you can try several other mags to see if that solves the issue?

P.S. I have not had the chance to hit the range yet, I just got a case of 2280 rounds from Marstar, he he he.
ACK!!! I just opened one of the spam cans of ammo & it's actually 7.62x39!!! Marstar gave me the wrong ammo!!! Oh well, will get it sorted out on Monday... No 7.62x25 ammo in the house yet... Bummer!

Done, I was with 7 mags at the range yesterday
, and the tok was extra clean, same ammo I use for my others Toks.I see you are from Ottawa, my local store (Gatineau) is with 7,62x25 crate of 2500 rounds (military) around $360, pretty sure that they can also sell half of crate (1250 rounds) if you ask....
I was thinking the same thing I have 1 matching 1954 and a 1955 with unmatched mag. There is probably a good chance if everyone puts up their mag serial#s we would get at least a few more matches"" and we only need tp send the floor plate not the whole mag!! I have 5 more mags coming too, but the guy said they were restamped which has me wondering, if these are new unissued, then why a restamp!
Any chance you can try several other mags to see if that solves the issue?

jay how are you .i bought one of the toks as well .my son wants to shot pistols so also picked up a norc 1911in 45acp just for a bigger bang. do you think a guy can reload that surplus brass with lead for inside shooting .
i also wonder if i had an autocad program drawn to lazer the bottom clip plate if a guy could stamp the correct serial # to match this pistols .then just swap them munch
Well... crap! I think I may have got the lemon of the batch. The barrel is definitely pitted.
The slide lock doesn't work - I can see where the metal is peened from it slipping - and it didn't get peened like that from my one try at it. If I put the slide stop from my Russian TT in the Polish one it works fine. The Polish one is angled (bent? defective?) out slightly from the slide (the pin isn't exactly 90 degrees from the stop part). Maybe I can put it in a vise and tap it or put a wrench on it to bend it to 90 - not sure if that's a good idea or not. I'm worried that it might just break. Though... what difference does it make? If it breaks I needed a new one anyway. Might try it.
Not good. I would not accept it in this condition. I really don't know what is wrong with some people. They accidentally stumble on tones of good publicity and goodwill that others have to work for years to get it, ....and what they do with it....?

Oh god haha atleast we never have enough 7.62x39 ammo in the house
The surplus 7.62x25 anyways come in a big box full of small box that contain 5 slide of 8 bullet. Not a spam can
I unsliced less than a half of the box and I got this (approx 1080 round)
The dark-greenish one are better looking and look less damaged.
On the brass one some of them have corrosion that I will need to throw away in garbage

In their defence... we're talking about crates of unissued surplus pistols here that have been stored God knows where for decades. Kelly's is a two man operation that all of a sudden got bombarded with online orders. Some pistols were flawless...some had scratches from handling somewhere along the line,and some have a little rust from being exposed to moisture or condensation....cosmoline probably didn't reach every nook and cranny when it was applied 60 years ago. I think Kelly's took reasonable measures in checking each pistol before shipping,but they're only human....if the first 40 barrels looked spotless...it would be reasonable to assume they are all that clean. If a few slipped passed them,than so be it...I'm sure it wasn't their intention to sell a flawed barrel. Sometimes
happens and there is really no one at fault. I feel confidant that if you contact Kelly's, they'll make it right.I am not sure if the brass is berdan primed... Have yet to get my hands on any 7.62x25... The 45 ammo CanadaAmmo was selling, the Norinco brass cased stuff IS reloadable...

I bought two pistols at the same time (Christmas), both 53. One is mint on the outside, looks amazing and hardly any 'half moon' discolouration on the top of the slide from storage, however it has light surface rust/discolouration all over the inside of the frame and the barrel shows some pitting/marking. The second one looks rougher on the outside, has a big old half moon on top of the slide from storage but the inside is clean as a whistle, the barrel looks like it was made yesterday (seriously!). Very Happy with both guns, they are just different. I'd buy two more if I could.
Kelly's has done a bang up job with these and can't be faulted (IMHO) for a few that might not have aged as well as the others. As in my case one is outstanding and the other is very good but both are in much better condition than most refurbished offerings, These are after all 60 year old guns!.
I'm sure as with the one with the bad barrel posted earlier Kelly's will make it right.
Edit - Lol as I was posting Wes posted to say they would replace the bad barrelled pistol for the gent who got it.

Also a quick question neither of my mags match one is BR05407 (if it matches yours, I'm happy to trade) the other mag is ### out and has 446 engraved on it in electro pencil? Why would the second mag be ### out? Can the mag be referbed? This migh be a stupid question but I'm new to milsurp.

I got a case of 2520 rds of Hungarian surplus in a crate. Came in 2 metal tins.. not the "spam" cans. These are rectangular tins. Same as what my Chinese 7.62x39 milsurp from Plant 71 came in. The 7.62x25 was then packed in cardboard boxes of 70rds a piece with waxed paper. between the layers. No stripper clips or anything.
A small chisel, and hammer to get a corner lifted and then a set of pliers to peel the top off.
The milsurp ammo is Berdan. if you want to reload, buy the Boxer brass or 30 Mauser brass.
If you want to try some hollow points, pull the FMJ and seat the new bullet of your choice. For my 1911 I have to seat the military bullet a bit deeper, so it will fit the 9mm mags. The milsurp does fit a 38 Super mag.
