does anybody have a tokerev tt-33? I am thinking of getting one they look like a fun shooting gun and the price is right. Are they prone to breaking?
I see ammo is readily available.

They are great guns. Mine has both a 9mm barrel & also one in 7.62X25 Tokarev.
Just change barrels & mags & you have a different caliber.

They are strong & work well.

I can hit targets from fifty yards with my Norinco Tokarev in 7.62x25. That is from the bench and other people hit within six inches at 25 yards.
My only complaint has been that when I use lacquered steel casinged ammunition and fire over 200 rnds of that type the pistol will not extract properly and the barrel will lock into the slide so that I must take the slide off and literally hit the barrel until it comes loose and can be taken out.
At that point I may find a casing in the barrel or a live round. The extractor is jammed with lacquer.
The problem may be the ammo or the lacquer or limp wristing. It doesn't happen when I use two hands to shoot the pistol but rather when I use my left hand only.
All in all a fun shooting pistol and I am planning to buy another and two cases of surplus ammunition for it.

Forget about the 9mm barrel, just get the original 7.62x25. Lever Arms has it for 150. Wherelse you can buy a serious pistol that can kill something with 150 dollars?

I have a Soviet jobbie, fun gun and I love the 7,62x25 round (but it's a bit snappy). The gun is a bit thin though and I have trouble getting a comfortable grip on it. But it works 100% with everything I have put through it and it is built like a tank.

I have a Hungarian one and suggest getting a Russian or the Hungarian over the Norc one.Dont get me wrong the Norc is a good one too but the fit and finish on some of the Norcs are just aweful.

I was thinking about my Norc today.

Out of the handguns I have, and shoot regularly, I think it is the only one that I have never experienced any form of malfunction.

Not bad for a really cheap gun.

The Chinese military issue ones are a great deal, much better fit and finish than the civvie ones, no add-on safety (not really needed) and very little more than the current production. Mine was new, 1966 production, and is very nicely done inside and out - highly recomended.
It goes great with my 1967 Factory 26 SKS, less than $400 for both of them, ammo is ridiculously cheap and they work perfectly - what would you expect from a Viet Cong starter kit. :D

Tokarev built like hammer! Crush facists with reliabiility and big-jesus flames from barrel! Urrah!

Haha, TT is hammer! Make great destruction for fascist pig, for great victory, pobieda!!

I'm looking into one, I'd like to find a TT-30, the initial production variant, are those hard to find or were they all retrofitted to the Model 1933 config?

Is it hard to find a real, USSR made Tokarev with original finish in Very Good/Excellent condition? How much would one expect to pay for one?

Tt30

I have one of the TT30 or similar Hungarian pistols in .22. It uses inserts that are the shape of the 7.62 X 25 rounds. You load the .22 bullet into the adaptor or insert to fire the gun. I never fired it but looks like an interesting concept.

there's no problem hitting with the 9mm barrel either- just use the 115 grain ammo or the 124 grain stuff- at least i can score at least 8's on a b-34 at 10 yards and i'm not trying all that hard

combine mig and teapots reply and you have my reply. It was my first handgun, still is my only one and I flippin hate...it constantly jams and need to fudge around with extractor. and it shoots 2 feet off and needs to be punched to re adjust sight however the handles keep falling apart so i am not going to do anything with the crap piece.....I have seriously thought of giving it away on the street and would if i could but it is illegal...it is not like the thing would kill anybody if it was on the street because you cant put 6 shots through it without jamming......i would never break the law with it i am just frustrated because now i am affraid to buy handgun because i bought to get a feel for them and never want a piece of garb like it again.......grrrr

how bout ruger blackhawks revlvers?
9 mm glocks?
22 sigs?

any experiences?
