hello folks,
i was at the range yesterday with a friend
he had braught his tomahawk pump action shotgun with him
it was the second time he was bringing it. the first time it kept jamming and was consistantly unable to feed properly
this time, it started to break up in pieces from its own recoil

so if there's on shotgun that should be never trusted it is probably the tomahawk pump action

anybody there had any better/worse experiences?

Please give us a call and explain "it started to break up in pieces from its own recoil"

PICTURES ?

I have never heard of such a thing....

I don't have any experience with the Tomahawk shotguns but I've had some pretty bad experiences with the reliability of a friends grizzly 870 before he sold it. The thing looked great. Just didn't function very well.

Now I will only buy Remington or Benelli... It's worth the extra money.

Thank you for the PM but I think in all fairness to the readers here perhaps comments should be posted here....

I own a Dominion Grizzly, and its a GREAT shotgun, no problems whatsoever. And I would recommend it. As for the Tomahawk, this is the first time I have heard of any problems from them.

the barrel screw kept getting loose
the action slide would always detach from the forearm (i dont know if it's the right word. i mean the piece that you pull and push to eject/feed the new round) and the bolt stuck in the back
it wasn't able to feed properly because the round from the tube mag would get only halfway on the lifter or if it went completely, a second round would go back as well causing a jam.

i'm not into shotguns really but i was amazed by the things i saw

I had one of those tomahawk shotguns as well, and it did some things similarily to that one.

Good that you got hooked up with Johnone already. Hes the owner of Marstar, so, hes the guy to talk to.

If it is not working, why try to still shoot with it
Had a fellow blow up a barrel with end full of mud
and expected a new gun on warrenty.
he thought the gas pressure should clean the barrel.

The thing to remember with pumps is they like you to be forceful with them when cycling ammo. Otherwise they will jam. Mind you all I ever owned was Wingmasters and am currently waiting for my new Browning BPS to arrive so I have absolutely no idea of the kinds of problems you are talking about and do not expect to either. Im going with the "get what you pay for" line too. Just be thankful there were no hordes of zombies lookin to eat yer brains!
