I'm gonna enjoy my "go to" monster masher even more this year. I bought the Limbsaver pad (#10001) for my Ruger77MkII syn/stainless "All Weather" in 350WSM. I installed it myself without a hitch. A while back some reported having to file the pad's holes elongated in order to fit. But it seems that the factory has done that now as mine was like that out of the box. The lines match the stock pretty well.

Those Limbsavers sure seem cushy soft. I can see why so many like them. I can't wait to get out to the range to test it with my heavy hunting loads - 250s out the end at around 2740fps.

The Limb-savers are great pads and really work well.

One thing that I have noticed however is that they do compress a lot under heavy recoil. If you creep up on the stock too far they can give enough to allow the scope to bite you even if you have a good grip on the rifle.

The limbsaver will make a huge difference on that rifle. They really tame the bigger guns.
A big 10-4!
Today I fired five offhand shots with just a sweater (no coat) and it was sooo sweet in the recoil department. The Limbsaver is much better. Today I was wavering bad and couldn't get my crosshairs to settle in on target at all. But I still managed to put 4 out of 5 into a 6" black bull @ 100yds. The party pooper was 2 1/2" outside. I gotta get back to shootin more to settle me down as I got away from it this winter.
...they can give enough to allow the scope to bite you...
Right thanks - my Leup scope (VariXIII 1.5-5) has lotsa eyerelief and is mounted at the forward image fringe to avoid developing a third eye. Also the pad added a 1/4" LOP. It's all good.

Is that the same pad you have on your Guide Gun? lol

4 out of 5 into a 6" bull at 100 yards......offhand? With a .350 WSM? I'd be bragging, not complaining!
I find offhand shooting with my .280 A-Bolt (my go-to rifle) difficult indeed. I blew the neck artery out of my deer this year offhand at 40 yards. I was aiming at the chest! Obviously I should practise more.
How well does the LimbSaver grip to the cloth of your sweater/jacket? One reason I've kept my original Browning pad is that it offers a great non-slip surface.

The Limbsaver is as non slip as they come I think.

Not complaining - just I suprised myself with 4 on target as I was constantly weaving and bobbing all over and around the target (scope set at 5x) - more than usual. I squeezed off each shot when the crosshairs were moving across the bull. I felt like I got lucky with the 4 hits.

The more I practice the luckier I gets - hitting what I'm shooting at I mean.
