If you want to know more, A LOT MORE about everything to do with precision rifles I can't recommend this book enough. I only wish I had purchased it the moment it came out. Every serious accuracy minded individual should have this book.

Mike Ratigans book called "Extreme Rifle Accuracy" is also a good read, it came out first and had some stuff in it he learned from The Man and may not have given credit where credit was due, and then again maybe not

if more people would read these books then they would not call late at night to discuss anal topics until I drift off to sleep

I've had that book for quite a while now. It's no big deal. For who Tony is, I was expecting more meat on the bone.

Well for a rookie like me it has been of great benefit.
How much more meat could there be? I have seen many top shooters in the U.S comment on it saying things like" He left no stone left unturned etc".

You should be able to get them through Sinclair. Although not in Canada Sinclair is great to deal with.

The meat is all there, you just have to recognize it

Apples and oranges, I have both books, Tony's book is mostly about how to get the most out of your equipment for short range bench rest, the other is about ballistics and contains a lot of technical material, great info and good to know but will do little to help you shoot small groups.
Tony's book gives an insight into how a lot of the top guys prep, reload and tune their rifles in competition. Read the book carefully ,some of the best info is there but not so obvious.
sorry to offend anyone ,that was not my intent

There are not to many books on ballistics or accuracy that I don't already have , as a competitor we are always on the hunt for the next best thing ,( usually turns out the one we just got rid of was just fine ).if it's short range competition or accuracy your after . Tony's book and Mike's books are probably the most helpfull , rifle accuracy facts again has some interesting stuff, but it also has some outdated info and some stuff that has been proved out to be not correct.
The long range game is a little different so if that's where one wants to go there are books with more complete info pertaining to that game, as for short range accuracy the two mantioned are the two best I have seen.
Hope that helps.
Shoot well

Personally , Tony's book has been of great benefit to me.My loads are a little better,my equipment setup is a little better but the greatest benefit is it has brought my shooting to a whole new level, mainly consistency. Previously I have shot some really good groups , a lot of average groups and some bad groups( too many really).A bad group is rare for me now. Most of my shooting is at 500-1000 yards so it has proven very useful to me for long range shooting even though the book is clearly geared towards short range benchrest.
I simply don't think you have realized exactly what is in there as there is everything in there to take an average shooter and bring them to a competitive level. What more could you ask for?

Cannuck, It's great that some of you have found good content in his book. I just don't want readers of this forum to over anticipate it's value. I would not say its a bad book, but it's not the last word on shooting either.

I've read lots of books on shooting over the years and perhaps for that reason I did not find anything really unique or fresh in Tony's book. From my perspective I found the book to be much of the same old story but with different actors.

I'm certainly not unique in this assessment if you have followed the reception the book received in the US when it was first released. The general consensus is that the book was over anticipated and for that reason was something of a disappointment among experienced shooters.

Again, I'm not suggesting CGNers avoid the book, hey go ahead and buy a copy if you want, it's entertaining enough. Just don't expect too much and you wont be disappointed.

Well, I believe it is geared towards the beginner to intermediate and as such is an excellent book to start with. I am assuming you are an advanced shooter which is why you found it disappointing but for a beginner like me it has been immensely helpful.

If your interested in competing in bench rest , Beginners and experienced shooters alike can benifit from the information in Tony's book, it's not the only way to get there , but it is one way ,

From BadAsMo's opposition to Mr.Boyer's book I thought perhaps experienced/advanced shooters had nothing to gain by it. Personally, I have gained an awful lot from it. I wish I had known the information contained in Mr.Boyer's book when I got more involved in the precision game.
