Tony Sopranos AR10

From the episode "Sopranos Home Movies" Tony was given this as a gift from Bobby.

What I wanted was to satisfy my curiousity, what are some of the parts and accessories on this rifle. For example, the front sight is something I haven't seen before in any Brownells catalog. And the front railed handguard, what brand is it, also the front vertical grip.

That's what I originally thought as well. YHM forearm. I still can't figure out the front sight. It's strange looking.

YHM flip up front sight? (I'm thinking they got a deal on a bunch of YHM) Also is that an AR-10 - in the last pic it looks like somone added something to the mag to make it look bigger, and whatever it is overhangs the mag well. Size of the well looks like a 556.

The front and rear sights are DPMS mangonel flip-ups.

The rail covers are UTG, as for the rail itself I can't tell.

Its a complete DPMS Super Sass with a Aimpoint and Lmt Sopmod carbin stock setup...

The rail covers are indeed UTG !!!

The sights are indeed mangonel.

Those rail covers are not by UTG, those are Mako (parent company of FAB) rail covers.

It is no AR-10

The mag is bigger than the Mag-well. It looks 'Cooler' to have big wide mag-body on it.

It's all added in post-production by people who most likely have never shot any firearms nowadays.

Last time I checked, Mako is Israeli, UTG is Chicom.

And with my observation, this flash is real, but they are using movie blanks to create more flash. I work in the VFX industry, and yes, we do add more flash alot of the times because the camaras do not always pick up the frames even when they use these blanks. And yes alot of my collegues know nothing about firearms, so I try to educate them the best I can at times, but you would be suprised a few of us are gun savy in this industry, and that does transcend to the work we do if the director agrees with our art direction.
