I've loaded a bit of rifle, but this is my first time loading pistol with a crimp. I went through the process in the directions that came with my lee three piece carbide dies and went with the starting load of hogdon h110 and set them to 2.160", which was right in the cannelure. I used 240 grain xtp and 300 grain xtp with the Winchester large rifle magnum primer. The part of the directions that tells you how to crimp isn't very clear so I went on YouTube and found a video that suggested you turn in you die one half turn past the point the die meets your brass. When I fired the first round it seemed like quite a bit more recoil than the factory loads and it was hard to get out of the wheel.
This is where the fired rounds start to bind putting them back in.

Is this too much crimp or did I make a different mistake? Is there a trick to setting crimp?
