too much scope?

I use a 5-25x magnification and find that most of my shooting is done at 12x. I like to spot my own hits and lower magnification allows me to get back on target quicker to spot the hit or miss. I find that using 12x on my 5-25x scope gives the best sight picture and lower mirage. I also have a 3-12x scope on another rifle, and when its dialed up to 12x the picture quality isnt as good as the other scope. I would recommend the higher magnification scope even if you dont use the highest power all the time.

There are many high power variables out there to suit your needs.
Make sure you do your homework though and ensure your added MOA scope bases (or Burris rings etc) and MOA elevation up adjustments in your scope internals match your ballistic needs at long range. It would be frustrating indeed to only find out at the range that you cannot hold dead on the crosshairs at the 18inch gong at 1100 meters or thereabouts because you ran out of scope elevation adjustment with your chosen cartridge.
