Took my anschutz out for the first time, pics of the outing!

Hello all I just bought a model 310 anschutz I took 4 different boxes of rimfire shell out with me. Remington sub-sonics (didn't shoot very well), CCI mini Mags (under 1 " at 50 yards), PMC sidewinders and Fedral American Eagles. Which I am posting their targets. I bought this rifle in a small gun store in Sudbury and it is a shootin MOFO ....as you will see. I set up my target @ 50 yards. I use a Caldwell steady rest on a picknic table.

It not the greatest, but it definately helps sighting in guns. I definatly would use another rest...of any type to sight in rifles. I also set it on a table with a large dark towel over my head...........All I see in my scope that way, I find it helps with distractions that you can see and good ear muffs help with sound.

That way its just me and the gun!

And you forgot to mention that the rounds that did hit the paper missed the exact center too :D Better suffer your loss and sell it to 22lr ;)

You should try out the online matches... great motivation to practice... and you and your rifle would be VERY competative!

You should be able to get these for somewhere around the $300 mark in VG condition. I paid $329 for mine.

It's hell at shooting Grouse in the head. :D
 
Nice looking Anschutz. I have a Walther UIT match with iron sights. Basically aimed for pin-head shooting at prone, kneel & standing positions. Have not used it for some time for my strange position was to lay on my left hip though shooting right handed in prone position. Broke the left hip back in '89 so could not lay on my left hip & beside the s/b target shooting was actually baby sitting & several kids ran over my Walther & almost toppled my scope so packed up & that was that.

Besides I am to busy with h/gun shooting twice a week along with teaching others & more so if they go into center-fire in teaching them how to reduce loads for INDOOR h/gun shooting, not to mention my own along with cleaning my h/guns.
