Some of you know, I just bought my first handgun. It's a IWI Jericho 941 in 9mm. I took it out yesterday for the first time and put 100 rounds through it. I loved it. The gun felt great in my hand, the trigger was smooth and I thought is shot reasonably well in my inexperienced hands.
I was shooting at a 10 yard distance, as suggested by one guy at the range. He suggested I start at a close range so I could build up familiarity and skill with my pistol.
I tried shooting one eye closed and with both eyes open. I can't seem to shoot with both eyes open for some reason. Both sights and the target become totally blurry. However, i find that if I half close my non-dominant eye, I can get that ideal front sight clear/target blurred image and still retain most of my field of view.
I put 50 rounds into each target. The target closet to the camera is the 2nd target i shot, where I played around with speeding up my shooting for s**ts and giggles. The head shots were the last 10 rounds I had which I emptied rapid fire. 7 out of the 10 hit the head, with 3 flyers. I also managed some keyhole groups in both targets
I also noticed that the rounds tended to edge to the left, so I'm thinking I may need to adjust my sights or my technique.
I have a long way to go, and this shooting is far from impressive, especially at 10 yards, but I'm excited to learn and improve.
