Ordered it from Cabelas with the "holiday" code for free shipping. Cheap gun I've heard a lot of good about.
The gun shoots very well. I liked it a lot. However some things bugged me.
First off, it took me about 5 minutes to realize that the front ring wasn't clamped to the dove tail, something I didn't even think to look for. But anyway, turns out the clamp isn't wide enough to fit onto the dove tail. It simply isn't wide enough and I didn't want to try to force it wider with a screwdriver. I'm calling marlin and asking for a new clamp.
So I was on iron sights for about 100 rounds. The thing will print a 1 inch pattern pretty darn well at 30ish yards.
The only damper on the experience was the ammo. Remington Thunderbolt .22lr would keep misfiring. Making the situation worse, when a round misfired, I'd pull back the action to extract but the gun would not throw it, and it would attempt to chamber another round. This lead to basically wasting two rounds per mag tube full. Cuts down on the fun when it happens two or three times per mag.
Al in all, the gun is excellent. Love it. Just need to find better ammo.
