took my new gsg out! range report

Hello cgn

Received my new gsg 1911-22 this week and I got a chance to try it today. I am very please with the firearm. It really fits me. I wanted a not too expensive .22 full size that did not look like a space gun (read most target. 22). There is not a lot of option but I am please with this one.

I tried a Bunch of ammo and found out it is really picky.

It worked good with:
Yellow jacket (no failure in 150 rds)
Federal champion 525 (shot 200+ rounds maybe 1 failure)
Thunderbolt (only tried about 30 rounds)
American eagle (50 rounds-100% ok)


It hated:
Winchester wildcat lots of FTE
Winchester dynapoint would turn my gun into a single shot. 100% failure rate. I'd suggest not to bother with that ammo
Blazer (only tried 20 rounds) 2x stoppage gun did not cycle enought to #### the hammer completely but surprisingly, the rounds fed and ejected properly.


I shot decent groups with it and had the best result with federal champion (sorry I did not get targets pics). I did not like the mag safety (can't press the trigger with no mags inserted) I will disable it this week.

Overall I am pretty happy with the new toy and feels like I got a very good gun for the price I paid 350$ (400 with shipping and taxes)

Shhh about the fed champion 525's. They'll be sold out everywhere soon lol. Honestly though, i like them as much as mini-mags, and so does every 22 i put them through.

That is my favorite .22 ammo too for my rifle. I can't find the damn stuff anywhere I looked. I was down to my last pack but I just ordered 5 online. That should keep me going until everything is back to normal.

I did not take any but I was shooting 50+ rounds before target change and got +- 5 inches groups with maybe 5-6 impacts off the main group. Not really impressive but I am beginner shooter. I also find it hard to concentrate on doing good groups because dumping mags is so much fun!
 
Mine just loves fed bulk 525 ...cannot find any anywhere.....minimags work great...it's a great pistol, I'm on my second...lol

Hi gnmontey,
Thought I was done with it and traded it on.....about a month later I realised I really missed it.....so bought another on ee....go figure..
 
Bucket of bullets run perfect in my gsg im glad since i have 20,000 rds of it, try it out on the 25yard target challenge.
