So I took her out after a long hiatus. I missed the end of last seasons precision sniper matches due to surgery I needed after a accident. I haven't fired a rifle since August of last year. She was all cleaned and oiled for storage. Well the temps finally got better today and took her out finally. Get my loads ready for this season.
I went out there with 75 bullets, enough for 3 groupings. I started my first group page at 100, man it was bad LOL I'm going to blame the clean bore... but it was probably a rusty shooter. I never quit on a page, I always finish all 5 groups. It ended up with a average of 1.577" which is really bad for this gun. The groups were getting better in grouping 4 and 5. So I started a second page at 100 yards. Here are the results. Excuse the ripped corners the targets were soggy today and tore easily and staples.
Again not amazing, I have seen this gun shoot better. But groups were only getting better. I wanted to do a 3rd at 100 to perhaps get this gun on the factory sub MOA sticky. But I couldn't go home without sending a group to 200 yards. Here are the results.
Today it was bit breezy, but overall a nice day to shoot. I was pretty happy with this group. I can normally get a average of 0.8" at 100 so was happy to see that at 200 at least. Not bad for a factory rifle.
Load is 41.5grains of 8208 XBR with 168 grain amax.
