Well, I got a chance to take "Sheila" my M-305 to the Canaught Ranges this Saturday, I belong to the NCRRA that has a club there. We shoot Service Rifles and Target Rifles on Saturdays, weather permiting.

This is "Sheila".

She Was Ordered from Frontier Firearms.

My impressions, well first off all 20 rds hit the figure 11, those Norc sights got to go. After the first 5 rds, changed my point of aim the the figure 11 left hand, all other 15 rds where in the right knee area of the figure 11. tried to ajust the rear sight but she would try to come appart, so i left it alone.

Next thing I notice the trigger pull is lighter than my C-7. Going to leave that alone for now.

No known problems showed up at this firing, mags all work flawlessly, Cartrigde all fed and ejected the way they should, both bolt lugs were evenly seated on either side. Just wondering is this normal for a Norc.

What was done to "Sheila" so far:

- Marstar SS Op Rod Spring Guide
- Fabsports USGI Fiber Stock - Painted Black

So I like what I got, she's fun to shoot, I checked down below and no it hasn't fallen off yet.....

:D

Took her (Sheila) out to the ranges again this morning, defenitly going to change the rear sight, barrel needs to be reindex also, tilting 2-3 degrees to the left by the looks of it.

Just ordered the UTG trirail and a 6" rail extention from Fabrice at Fabsport, going to install my EOtech copy for the next range day. See if this make a difference.

;)

I once corrected the indexing on an IHC Garand which was off 1.5 deg as measured on an angle finder.2-3 deg off index would most likely cause the op rod to bind in it's travel.BTW, Shiela is'nt a Chinese name.

Sheila's new look

Added since last time : UTG Tri-Rail mounting system added / 6in extension, Paintball Harris Bipod copy, EOTech 511 Copy...

Way cool looking. Functioning sounds normal. Rear sights are crap so it was not a surprise that they would not adjust cleanly for you... M1 Garand sight set, here we come!!

Isn't the addiction fun ?

Love the black stock, I agree it fits the M14! Also agree with the rear sight, garbage if you ask me. I need to replace mine too, hopfully soon!

Looks awesome, very nice rifle!

Another Rages Day

Well took Sheila out to the Canaught Ranges. NCRRA Service Rifle Saturday morning shoot.

As usual Ninco sight s*cks, EOTech(copy) sight at the start were 30 MOA hight and 3 MOA to the right, with Bill Martin help we got the EOTech(copy) on target, now it`s just fine tuning.

Next outing will be at Vankleek Hill Gun Club for Hungry`s Clinic, maybe some shooting time on the ranges there to confirm and reajust.

Sheila still shoot nice...:)

Well Fenix.NZ the EOTech (copy) crappt out on me on the last shot fired on the range day last week-end, had to turn the EOT... sight on after every shot. It held zero just fine, adjustement do not have audile or tactile clicks but are easy to adjust with a dime or screwdriver.

I belive the problem of turning off after every shot is due to the week springs in the battery compartment, need to find something to install behind those spring to tighten up.

Now only if the darn thing would turn on, tried everything but no such luck.

Well that could be what you get for buying "made in China Copy".

:(

Garand Rear Sight

Well I decided to order a Garand M1 Rear Sight Assembly from our Italian friend.

Since my "Made In China" EOTech (copy) no longer wiches to work for me, I might just as well go back to iron sights for now....

Ditto on my Fake-point sight. Airsoft is - OK - for some applications, but there are limits.

as for the front sight, you may not need indexing, as i have found, my front sight leaned to right ever so slightly and i figured a needed a "reindex". Took the M14 to Hungry's DOD (Dungeon of Doom) aka - the basement, checked the indexing and it was bang on! Just on a hunch, Hungry threw on a USGI front sight to try out and voila!!! front sight was smack dab in the centre. On that note.......ensure its not just your front sight before messin with the barrel. PEACE OUT!!!!!

cheers & beers
