Had a lot of fun, it probably had not been shot in 8 years or so, it worked just as well as last time I shot it, was nice to shoot for fun with so little recoil. I loaded up some very old speer 80 gr bullets, they went over the chrony at 3160. not hot, but shot very well. The 99 savage is nice to shoot, the action is crisp and the trigger it pretty good.

Had a chance to buy one in 243, but the seller and I both had our personal limits, and were $25 apart, hence, no deal. In retrospect I was the idiot. Even with the extra $25, it would have been absolute steal at today's prices.

Have a 99EG in 243 but have yet to get to the range with it or even get a scope on top so far. Need some time away from work to get my guns in order I guess.

I picked up a basket case C in 243.I have the rifle back together and head spaced. Now have to build stocks for it.Found a butt stock pattern with a cheekpiece (DL I think)Just have to decide on color .I have a blue/black like the old Blue E or a rosewood.I was building it for a display but you know me if I can't shoot it It isn't worth owning.

Rich, did the DL have the cheekpiece (I can't remember) but I thought it only had the monte carlo rise. I know I've had a couple stocks with them, I think a company that started with an F used to make repros with the cheekpieces. Make sure you post pics when your done, I still love the wood on that old E.
