Brand new G17 ($499 at the local Sportsman's Warehouse). Mags were $20 each, and it came with two mags and a loader. Now I just gotta see how it shoots :)

Congrats on the purchase. Can't go wrong with a GLOCK, especially at that price. To bad Canadians will proably never get to but a new GLOCK cheaper than $599 and $35 a mag. lol
 
Great deal, Thats the price you'll pay for a 2nd gen 17 up here! I know you'll love it ! Just bought a 34 this year and haven't a single regret yet.
 
I want a G34.

I want a G34 next. My G17 I bought this year is a keeper.
Swap out the 5.5 pound connector and install the Wolf 3.5 one.
Its not that hard and a big improvement on the trigger.
Want to swap out the factory barrel with the polygonal rifling and switch to a Wolf conventional. It bites the lead better.
Drop in too!
 
I never liked Glock.
Own XD9, and I am not impressed with that type of pistol, however
looking at so many people being so excited with Glocks, I think time came to buy one.
This is from 1911 type guy :)
 
I've heard positive reviews on the Smith & Wesson M&P series. Smith has (or had) some type of special going whereby if you bought an M&P you could get two extra mags free. Does that also apply in Canada?

It's actually a $50 rebate AND the 2 free mags. I'm pretty happy with my purchase.

Yes it does indeed. My M&P9 just shipped and should be here early next week, thanks to Frontier arms. I'll be shipping the coupon in shortly thereafter.

I have 3 Glocks now a G20 10mm, G29 10mm, G23 40S&W and I used to have a G19 9mm my favorite is the G29 due to it being more compact than my G23 but I can also use my G20 mags with a Pierce mag spacer which basically gives me a G20SF grip.

I have 40S&W barrels for both of the 10mm's as well so I can shoot from mild too wild out of the G29...

Good luck with the G17 you will soon see why Glock's are so popular.
