took the marlin 795 to the range today..

Bass Pro in Calgary have Blue 795s but the price went up a bit, $189. now. Still looking for a Stainless one too. Shot a bunch of gophers yesterday with mine.

My local dealer (here in Ontario) had stainless 795s in stock earlier this year so I picked one up. Put an MCARBO kit in it too, nice shooter! Now I have one of each. :) So...would you say the 795 is a good gopher-slayer? :) Might bring mine out there next spring.

Definitely. Want to sell your Stainless 795?

My local shop has a Marlin 60 right now, $230, blued and wood. Not bad at all, considered what they quoted me for one a couple of years ago. Might have bitten if I had more spare change.

There is an awesome Model 60SS Stainless with grey laminated stock for sale at my local CT. Too expensive for my taste at $350+, but that's a pretty one!
My 795 basic cost me about $140 at Cabelas.ca last year, so I stick with that!

Sail. "Minimum 15% off all fishing & hunting items, including firearms!" Runs July 16th to 19th.

Picked up a 795 for $172.00 taxes in on Thursday. Shot it that night and it is an awesome little .22. Out of the box it was shooting 1/2 inch to the right of the bulls eye and elevation was dead on at 25 yards with iron sites:) Very pleased with it.
