Took the plunge

I picked up a notch m14/305 from the gunshop in thorsby yesterday and won't have time to try it out nor fully clean until about Wednesday due to work. But dang am I excited.

Oh, I for sure read the stickies. Several times over. Was planning on picking up one of the Marstar ones, but they sold out while I was waiting for another deal to go through. When CanAm posted these babies up, I jumped on it like a fat kid on a Smartie. I'm really looking forward to the whole tinkering aspect, I loves me some tinkering. Wondering if there's anyone in my area with headspace gauges...

get an rcbs case mic they aint pricey. Shoot a few rounds with your gas system off and measure the spent casings. Then instead of knowing whether your gun is "in spec" or out of spec you'll know your headspace

You will know your headspace- not just whether or not

It's here!! Went home on my lunch break, and it showed up!! Quickly wiped down the (absurd amount of) oil on the outside and gave her a quick once over before putting her in the safe and heading back to work. Looks good. Front sight is canted to the right, but not TOO badly. Receiver looks beautiful, no machining marks anywhere. Funny thing, I ordered the full length rifle, and my receiver still says "Dominion Arms Socom 18" on it. I'll post some pics tonight after I get her all cleaned up.
