Tool Chest ID?

Anyone have an idea on this one's make? Looking for a replacement drawer, for now.

Most likely not even being still made . Iooking to be from the 80`s or something . If you really need one take the measurements from one of the other drawers ,its dimensions other that the depth will be the same any one that can run a sheet metal brake can make it for you . Other option find one in a garage sale or mechanic work bay .

Its an old Beach tool chest/box. They were made in Canada. I have a larger roller chest and top box made by them.

Pop down to harbor freight in Plattsburg and get one of their US General boxes. Unless that one is really sentimental, ditch it.

Offered to me by a retired inlaw, ex RCAF and Pratt and Whitney employee. I do see a lot of work ahead to get this one going.
Going to go see it in person tonight.
Just realized one of my other ones is also a Beach.

keep an eye on the crown assets web site . they sell of lots of them. they just sold 20 or 30 in Montreal. some scrapper down there will likely be selling them off.

the first picture, that would make a good ammo box, the second picture, I had one like that for years, till I moved. now have stainless steel crappy tire ones

An ammo box, dont think it would hold up if loaded full.

Those drawer pulls scream "Beach".

Saw it last night.
Metal gauge on drawers at least, is twice what we normally see these days.

Looks like it 's not missing a drawer but the fold in half half drawer front cover.

I have the identical tool box to this one. Been using it for over 35years. Trouble free. Bought it initially from Canadian Tire.

Canadian steel, not Chinese tin .You could get the bottom as one big space for large stuff, like drills or have it with drawers as in lone of the last posts
The only weak part was the small wheels, the ones on my new s.s. boxes Chinese likely ? is the wheels would carry a truck.

It is an ols Beach cabinet, made in Smiths Falls Ontario.

They were bought out by Stanley, who moved the company, who were bought out by Mac tools.

The old plant closed down in the '80's.

As others have said , it appears to be a Beach ; the same tool chest was sold under the Canadian Tire brand as well years ago . I see them on Kijjiji once in a while in the $100 range for a decent used one .

Started working on it with acetone & fine scotch bite type pads to remove grey paint on top drawer. Red paint came off much easier than the grey.
Luckily have many spray cans of red enamel a friend gave me years ago. This will take a while.
Inside bottom was encrusted with who know what dried dark liquid. Maybe spilled soft-drinks?

Reminds me to buy more Varsol/ paint thinner.

Seems original red paint is acrylic, comes off with alcohol.

This is the top drawer that had the grey paint splashed on it after partial stripping and two coats of red Tremclad Spay can paint.
Masking tape still covering the handle.

Now to start on clean up of body frames and paint it.

Keys were lost years ago, so I picked the locks to close drawers and door without scratching the paint.
