Top 5 IPSC pistols

psst, don't let the "outsiders" know about that John. You'll ruin everyones ideas about us. Matches are already filling up too fast

I take it back! It was all a lie! I also got bad Karma from my comment, as my dog just barfed up what looks like a sausage made out of lawn and dog food on my living room floor. Guess i will go and clean that up now.

And again, I didn't say run it in Open class... Man, you really like twisting words and making stuff up to make other people look poor, don't you? You must REALLY hate your life. I'ma head back to mine which I thoroughly enjoy and leave you to the forums. I'm convinced now that I will gain NOTHING from being here except a headache and wasted time on the likes of you.

Cheers

Much appreciated guys!! THANKS!

Thank you everybody!!

I really appreciate all the advice and suggestions made by everyone. As it is pretty obvious, I do not have my black badge yet and am relatively new to shooting sports so all your words of advice will definitely be taken into account.

I've yet to experience any attitude from the shooting community other than willingness to help out this confessed newb. :p

I'm leaning towards playing in the production class so perhaps I will pick up a Shadow although, as I said, I am new so the whole "decocking" thing doesn't exactly worry me but it does give me pause. Could this be the excuse I need to pick up both a Shadow AND a Glock? :D In regards to the Classic division, as a newb, I've never heard of it but I am intrigued!! Dammit, yet another excuse to buy another gun!! LOL great... there goes my bank account!!
Thanks again everybody!

Sincerely,

Justmyluck

Classic is a new division this year and loosely based on Single Stack division from the US. The gun has to be of original 1911 design with single column mags, max 8 rounds if shooting major (.45) and you can go 10 rounds if you are shooting minor (9mm)
You can start with something relatively inexpensive like an STI Spartan, Remington R1, or base model Kimber and then mod it how ever you want. The nice thing with this division is you can start with a low cost gun like production but then you can do almost any mods you want to it with a couple of exceptions. Mag wells, adjustable sights, refinishing, trigger jobs, guide rods, match barrels etc are all good to go. Only things like weights, compensators, optics or lasers, and sight tracker barrels are prohibited ( no railed frames)

its where all the cool kids are playing. Someplace for everyone to mess around with their Single Stack 1911's. Being down 2 rounds makes you think about stages differently and the smaller mag and well makes reloading seem like a breeze when/if you switch back to a wide body. since everyone is making a 1911 these days you can get a quality setup for less than production

Are you always a #### or only half the time? :jerkit:

I've been walking this planet for over 60 years, on 3 continnents and 6 countries so far. I met zillions people and made almost that many friends. I've never called anybody ####, prick, a**hole and so on, in spite of some deserved it badely. Through my lifetime I learned, that all those who so freely and easely call the others "dicks,...." are the biggest dicks themselfs. By far.

that will teach you for pointing out that someone doesn't really understand a question.

You make it seem like you're trying soooo hard to show that you're a good person... But I still agree with the first assessment of you. I've operated on a lot more than 3 continents and 6 countries and I've met asshats everywhere I go. They are pretty easy to pick out of a crowd...

It's alright though, this is just the forums and this is where we REALLY prove how cool and awesome and better than everyone else we are, right? Cause this is better than reality.

Fwiw, I've learned there are dicks aaaaaall over the world. Easiest way to deal with them? Be nice to them or ignore them. Cheer besty and I hope we can keep our glowing friendship going!

LMAO @ Ranger!!! That's EXACKERY what I was thinking! (Btw... I got my Shadow for S&G's too and I love it!)

Browning HI Power as ISPC gun.

It looks like you don't know a lot about IPSC. Do you have a Black Badge? What was the highest level IPSC match you've competed in?

Hi I have Browning HI Power, modif with comander hammer, extended mag release plus, polished triger and all weighted 5 mags so they drop down with light press of the mag release.
Great handgun, extreemly accurate and easy to take care of.
I can put consistent two rounds within 1" group in 15m range.
I hope this helps.

Just picked up an Tanfoglio Stock III. First time to the range with it this past weekend. I must say I'm impressed. Very aggressive front and back strapping as well as aggressive checkering on the grips.

If you reload you'll want adjustable sights, which the Stock III has. I'm running 3.2gns of Bullseye under a 147 and it recoils similar to a .22. Still makes PF too. Its basically a shadow with some upgraded parts. The biggest difference being the adjustable sights and the much more aggressive strapping and checkering. Worth every penny.

NOT a TOP 5er :)

I will be going against the grain and using a new Italian made Beretta 92A1 for production, yes I know the CZ Shadow is a much better IPSC pistol but I am not competing to win.

My goal is to have fun and shoot something more real life in terms of a Duty Pistol.

Nothing Wrong with the Beretta! I started in IPSC with a 92F, they are every bit as accurate and certainly more reliable that all of the guns listed above for Production Division.
I also used to shoot a Glock (when I wanted to get more competitive)

Unfortunately my budget at this time would not allow me to afford such a pistol as that...but maybe one day :)
