Top 5 IPSC pistols

I'm going to be running my Beretta 92A1 and Sig P226 for IPSC production class. What PH Racing said about Beretta's is very true. In the end it all comes down to the shooter, not the gun. CZ just seems to be more involved in IPSC with sponsoring and promoting why everyone thinks you have to use a CZ Shadow if you want to win in production class.

That pic is from 1992, there's only one other person in it still shooting and he just came back after 15 years off.

Are you always a #### or only half the time? :jerkit:

Stormbringer just gave me an infraction for this comment, ONE WEEK LATER! LMAO

I guess it must be slow around here...

I hope other members are treated equally when I see the same or worse on MANY occasions.

Very True!

Gp6 for me, i understand sti did the deal with grand power because the k100 was doing so well in europe, they re named it and put it out there in the sti range...... Shoots great out of the box, lovely sa trigger, not bad da......only in 9mm, and super easy to field strip....

do a better job next time and it will come to the mods attention sooner  rookie

Made my choice!

Great suggestions!! After taking them into consideration, plus the fact that I doubt I will be very competitive right away and, being new to the sport, I decided to get something that I could grow with. Hence, I've made the decision to go with the CZ SP-01 Shadow. Found a great deal on the EE and hope to have it in my hand w/in the week!! VERY looking forward to taking to the range to stretch her legs out. Perhaps in the future, I'll see some of you BC IPSC shooters around once I get my black badge.

Never actually done a match. But I did my black badge course and I shoot IDPA club shoots once in a while. I like the reliability and consistent(but crappy) trigger. Also no external safety to worry about. Ive thought about buying a cz but my stock gen 3 G17 is working just fine.

I seem to have read here http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=757999 that the recoil spring change and DPM rod I spoke of and was so diligently slandered by a couple dudes on here is now actually legal for production class. Just sayin'...

That's the scary thing. You aren't always sure the RO are up to date on allowed mods.

Btw, I also got a stainless guide rod installed, which is approved. They also have a new stainless rod and shock buff version that is also production legal!

So, just in case you were interested in modding the SP-01 a bit, you do have some options that still keep you in production class. Grip tape on the grips and bumpers of your mags is another one. You'll probably get a better idea of which, if any, mods you want to do to your SP-01 once you start shooting in IPSC.

Cheers!

Is the DPM thing offered by CZ as a factory part? I can't find it on their website... just sayin.

I'd be tempted to print off a parts list for any non standard bits in a production gun, so if anyone is curious you can back up your mods.

yup, cheating is the best way to get good at something, untill you get caught. If CZ offers the part its good to go, but CZ doesn't make a recoil reducing guide rod at the moment

I think the SS rod with buffer is only available with the crafm shadow. Nobody sells the SS rod and buffer system separately yet. cRAFM told me late summer maybe.

I'm sure slavex will chime in as he posted the info on gv

Noice!

I'm still waiting to see how many rounds it takes to kill my plastic rod... Into the many thousands already so I'm not sure what kind of uber plastic it's made out of, lol! Unobtainium or some kind of Soviet Russia secret plastic??? (kidding...)

*Edit: If I'm not gonna compete with it and am happy with 2" groups coming out of my Shadow at 15 yards is the SS guide rod worth the bother? I'm hesitant because I always hear it's a b**** to get in and out of the gun...
