Top 5 IPSC pistols

What lb recoil spring you using? If you are factory ammo you should change recoil springs every 4-5k. I doubt you will ever need to have your recoil rod changed.

I run a 11lb recoil spring with 133-138 PF ammo. I know some people that use the 10lb spring. The factory recoil spring is rated at 14-15lbs for factory ammo.

Cool, thanks man! I'll hold off for now until I notice some serious wear and tear on my guide rod.

Just using the factory spring as I don't hand-load for 9mm. I should probably pick up a new spring for it soon, but it still seems to cycle really smoothly and I haven't had a single failure to feed since I bought the Shadow... It's been very kind to me actually, lol! The price savings vs cost for my time at home loading isn't there on 9mm for me like it would be loading for my 8mm Mauser or something. Decent 9mm bulk ammo is cheap and I don't compete with it so I see no advantage to taylor made loads when I'm just having fun.

Only problem I ran into was when I used some BDX ammo. The corn filler decided it should line my barrel REALLY badly after only 100 rounds of it so I quit using it. Now I'm just back to mostly 115GR Federal/AE or 124GR Rem UMG/Federal AE ammo for plates. Took me close to 2 hours to get the corn out of my barrel and I destroyed a brush in the process, LOL!
