For reliability, probably have to go with the proven designs in popular calibers:

Tavor/X95- 223
BRS 99 - 9mm
Famae 542 - 308
VZ 58- 7.62x39
Benelli M4 - 12GA
 
Let's play then:

Modern Sporter - The most modular, most funtional.
ACR - Solid design but piston front heavy, and limited modularity.
SLR - Similar to MS in it's modular nature, but weird design 'features'.
XCR - Reliable, functional but non modular.
Swiss Arms - Heavy, bombproof, tough to modernise.

Haha I hear you. You’ve got a solid stack right there. I’ve had an Ulfberht on my list for ages and I need to get a Petra. I’ve got the others more or less sorted though.

Thanks for all the input folks. Just did up a ‘top 5 not-an-AR’ video. Lots of potential nr possibilities in that one as well. ianfroese I agree, with a nr barrel I would put it at the top of the pile of everything I’ve tried as far as nr pcc. Actually, I might give it to the nr ps90. It would be close, but the Ps90 was such a handy little thing, even with the goofy long barrel.

Oh God, please don't. Could you change the names of the rifles to something made up at least. So the RCMP put them on the list they're making.

You would have to be pretty naive to believe that the RCMP personally approved each and every one of these and doesn't already have them on a list, or are not at least very aware of them.

Hiding gains us nothing.

Definitely some issues lol. Be interesting to see how the next gen turns out.

So many choices!! What a time for the libs to mess with it all. I can't imagine the financial impact on these Canadian companies that invested in designing, tooling and manufacturing just to have the threat of losing the market with the stroke of a pen and absolutely zero impact on public safety.
