Top 5 NR Rifles. Go.

Planning on doing another Top5 Video for my YouTube channel, this time on NR rifles (semi auto), and want your input upfront this time.

  • Definitely one of the new AR type rifles, SLR/MS/MV/MH/Stag/102
  • Semi auto shotgun, typhoon f12, benelli m4, fd12?
  • RobArms XCR definitely makes my list.
  • Something exotic like the m60 or Lynx would be cool, but I'd rather keep it centered around common stuff everyone's interested in.
  • Probably one of the Ak variants. Vz, Valmet (but again, exotic), m10x etc.
  • I'd like to get a pcc in there, but I don't have any NR options at the moment other than a kriss vector and brs99, and those would not make my list..

Let me know what you think and please add your top 5 below, or just other good suggestions.

title says rifles.

so I'd have:
atrs ms
stag 10
Xcr-M & Xcr-l
cz858
tavor

wildcards are:
pcc -scorpion evo
the magnum semiauto's - falkor petra, the 338 lapuas from pgwdti and alexander arms

Thanks for all of the input guys. Looking to find my next NR target rifle. Very curious about the Kodiak WK180C but I must say I've heard mixed reviews... definitely need a bit more research before I commit to one.

Im bored so ill play haha..

1) SKS ultimately the best bang for your buck Red rifle that can offer something for everyone.

2) ATR Modern Sporter a reasonably priced, high quality alternative for an AR 15.

3) Stag 10 for the same reasons as the Modern Sporter, except its .308.

4) Just Right Carbine a tuff choice since there are so many great PCCs... but ultimately the JR is affordable and like the SKS can offer something for everyone.

5) K&M M17s judging by the reviews, its the best all around bullpup in Canada.

K&M m17s is not easy to field strip, especially for cleaning the gas system. Try to do it in the woods, without the tools and a work bench

Cant remember wat its field strip was like. But it appears to have a superb trigger, decent enough ergos and exceptional accuracy (by bullpup standards). Plus its mostly metal. I have handled Tavors, x95s, and various t97s.... the M17s stood out waaaay on top when i finally got the chance to hold one.

You gotta look at simplicity and function.
Type 81.

The less there is to breakdown, the less parts can malfunction.

It’s perfect.

In the video the guy never takes apart the gas system. As opposed to the AR 15, which has a self cleaning tube, M 17 is a short stroke piston design. You will have to clean that piston eventually. And for that, a barrel has to be unscrewed from the upper receiver. Not a very user friendly system, in my opinion.

Each to their own i guess, for me it would be a non issue, the Benelli MR1s gas system is also a chore to take apart and clean. BUT ive found it can literally cycle 1000s of rounds before needing to be cleaned. Its probably the same case for the M17s.

Threads like this make me happy to live in the US.

For my black rifle goodness, I will happily take my KAC SR15 E3 Mod1 rifle over any alternatives. I need to work on getting it suppressed for 2020.

I hope things eventually get better up in Canada, and the Liberals aren't able to pass any more stupidity in the form of legislation.

Wow, this list sure has changed since the thread was started.... a LOT of the good choices are no longer options. Of those remaining, these would be my suggestions/choices for a top 5

1/ ACR
2/ ATRS Modern Sporter with quality parts
3/ G36
4/ Famae 540/542, depending on what caliber you prefer
5/ X95/TAR21/Tavor7, depending on your caliber and ergonomic preferences

ALL the good options are likely to disappear forever if the legal challenges fail.
For all you guys with Modern Sporters ATRS is fighting for YOUR information to stay private, your guns to returned to NR status from the unlawfully altered FRTs they now have.
This legal action is costing a bundle and ATRS NEEDS our help to fund this fight. Please help them and yourselves.
