Why dont you stick to Possum hunting and use the optics you're more accustomed to: Tasco wasn't it?
I've got a 4-16 Hensoldt myself.. & if I had money to burn there'd be one on every rifle I own. The 3-12 is basically the same, but with more elevation*
I honestly thought I had some pretty damn good scopes on my rifles in the past, but switching back to them (mounted on my other rifles) I almost don't want to shoot them.. it's unbelievable how you start to understand & appreciate terms like "eye box" "tunnelling" "fov" "crispness" "fatigue" (that sorta thing) after spending time behind a Henny. Everything else just doesn't cut it after that. My Nightforce, (NXS) which is praised the way they are* even gives me the sense of "peering through a keyhole" after the past year behind my Hensoldt. I've heard comments from some with similar complaints with Schmidts but haven't got one to personally verify that. I'll say this though, I never imagined I'd be disappointed in that Nightforce. But little-things do start irritating a guy.. almost spoils you actually--be aware of that regardless which way you decide*
I do wish I could compare to a S&B, it's probably the one and only scope I still would like to own one day. Til then though, I will swear by Hensoldt. They're outstanding.
Fwiw, while doing load development last summer (@200yards) on only 12x, I could see mosquitos crawling across my paper targets* (I thought my eyes were playing tricks & my bullet holes were moving at first, ha) I don't have a single other scope that could ever pick out a Mosquito, period, nevermind at 200yrds and 12x. Most glass makes it tough to pick out even the bullet holes if it's smaller than 7mm!!!
My vote goes Hensoldt. All the way.

That's because the mosquitos in Alberta are the size of magpies. LOL
I'd love to look through that Hensholdt, if you want when the snow clears up a bit we could do some shooting, I have a S&B 5-25 and a Premier Reticles 5-25 you could check out.
I thought about Premier for awhile, & March too actually.. but opted for the Henny in the end. Numerous reasons. Regarding Premier, did they not get bought out or re-named this last while? Seems I read that someplace.
Do you spend much time North Ivo ? Only time I make it south is for Stampede in all honestly. I'm a-ways from Calgary* Bonnyville/St.Paul area actually.. if you're up this way and timing lines up, can try make arrangements. Shoot a private range yr 'round. Stretch to 725 on one, +/- 1200 in another (when I can open a road/snow is piling big time)

The above was a press release last year. From what I have heard they are building a new production facility in Nova Scotia(Maybe its already done). They actually also bought out Tenebraex in August as well. My place is snowed in too, my friends and I usually shoot on my property too, distance is unlimited so it makes for some interesting fun. Maybe we can line something up for Stampede.
Regardless, you sure didn't make a bad choice with the Hensholdt.
First I'll say I'm not affiliated, I'm just a guy that cuts metal. I like supporting any Canadian company whenever possible.
The new products are at Shot show, hopefully some of the forum members down there this week will stop by to take a look, really fantastic scopes and a lot of work, engineering and testing went into it.
There's many new optics on the market this year from almost every manufacturer, its really exciting and great to see that they're all predicting enough future and growth in the sport to put $ into it.
I am really interested in the new Tangent Theta scopes and they are supposed to be available this year. I had a Premier that had a couple issues right out of the box that should have been caught at the factory and turned me off the overall product. Buuuut I really liked the scope in general. The turrets, zero stop, eye box, and of course great glass. The fact that they are manufactured here in Canada now and they would be more than aware of past issues, I like to think it will be a great product with great factory support. I see the new zero stop is still tool less, which is nice...beats removing turret caps on a windy, dusty day.

Can provide more info later but for now everyone interested should know that the new Tangent Theta scopes are excellent! Spoke at length with Andrew who was a total gentleman and was extremely forthcoming on the new design. Wish then all the best! An awesome scope in all respects, probably the nicest feeling turrets period!
I didn't realize (until IVO pointed out) that they are Canadian* That IS a very appealing thing in my opinion. Actually nice to see Canada as a player in that game.. and a quality product just the same. I'd be curious who "here" will be distributing them. Being a (now emerging) Canadian company/player in the optics game, I'd be sincerely interested in one of these scopes on "my" next rifle, and support Canadian in this case!

Hopefully they can do better for us fellow countrymen!
Will be tough to market against S&B when they are in the same price range and carry some of the Premier 'baggage'.
