Agreed. While the Premier Reticles scopes aren't very popular in Canada, it is quite the opposite south of the border. They are a robust, well designed scope that have excellent glass and perform equally or better than the best scopes on the market. This is just a personal opinion but I prefer my Premier 5-25x to my S&B 5-25x. The differences are minor but I still would take a Premier over the comparable S&B.

It is always a tough sell when you go head to head with the benchmark in the industry especially considering the solid history behind the S&B.

I totally agree.....I think all things considered for this to be a successful product they will have done their homework and will be releasing great product.
If they are priced right, I will be ordering a 5-25X.

Marcoman spoke with Andrew Webber at some length at SHOT and was very impressed with the sincerity and confidence that Andrew displayed while talking about their new flagship scope. Andrew stated, and I'll paraphrase here, that no expenses were spared in the design or construction of the new 5-25x and they wanted to be sure they brought to market the best scope money could buy, bar none.
That sure is a tall order however they truly believe they have done what they set out to do.

Yes, but no...

Zeiss & Hensoldt were competitiors in Germany prior to WWI (?/if I have my wars right*) During the war however (in around about way, to put it short) the companies were forced to amalgamate. (obviously then sharing expertise & design, it benefitted both) They however continued operating both factories. Hensoldt continued manufacturing out of their Wetzlar factory & Zeiss out of its own. The Hensoldt line however (until the last few years) had been off limits to anyone outside of Mil/LE. Hensoldt was specifically for military manufacture, Zeiss more so as civilian/sport optics. They have slightly different spec. Just over a year ago (correct me if I'm wrong) Cassidian purchased "Hensoldt" from Zeiss, and now again they are two seperate entities. Zeiss is left to focus (obviously) on civilian/sport optics and Cassidian/Hensoldt on "world security" and global military demand specifically. So Until October 2012 yah Zeiss had their hand in Hensoldt.. (now) they don't. Sold to Cassidian to carry it forward.

I spoke to Eric Eichhorst (senior engineer at Tangent Theta) at SHOT and as per him: "We don't like to divulge the source or design of our components, but it's German glass."

Further conversations indicated that the glass is produced by Schott of Germany, according to Tangent Theta's exacting specifications. I've been selling Premier scopes for over two years now, and have been extremely pleased with the customer response to the product, and the absence of any warranty issues. As a note, Armament/Tangent Theta is providing full warranty support to the "old" Premier line.

We will have information on pricing and availability very soon.

On a related note, I have also made arrangement to carry Hensoldt products, particularly the ZF 3-12x56 and the gorgeous (and spendy) ZF 3.5-26x56 - exciting stuff!

I believe that Schott also made glass for IOR which are good optics but lacking in many other aspects. TT probably had an exact "recipie" for what they wanted in their glass to their standards.

Spoke at length with Andrew who was a total gentleman and was extremely forthcoming on the new design. Wish then all the best! 1/8th MOA adjustments would be handy, but must be a PITA to adjust, especially with cold hands.

Hell, I find high ratio turn knobs a pain sometimes.

Nice looking scope though.
