I attended today and boy there were a lot of tables present as some of them went out onto the grass. I saw lots of WW2 German and Commonwealth items and some WW1. What caught my eye was a French light cavalry breast and back plate with helm from the French second empire period.
I walked the entire show and I was able to find a WW1 Austro-Hungarian brass buckle and an original Gew 98 sling (that now proudly is part of my 1916 Gew 98). There was a Chassepot bayonet that caught my eye as well but I noticed the lock spring was missing. I did see many 1907 pattern bayonets and the prices varied quite a bit on them.
I did happen to see two Martini-Henrys, both Mark IVs, both made in 1888 at Enfield, both from the same suffix letter block and about 3000 or so apart I think.
There was one gentleman who had a Japanese marked Synder Enfield (Mark I ** I think) and that was certainly something I have never seen before.
Did anyone else go ? What other items did you guys get ?
I am very much looking forward to Orangeville now
