I recently bought a somewhat-pimped 10/22 from my brother.

The mods are: a) a nice Hogue stock, b) screw on base, burris medium zee rings, bushnell banner 4-12x40 AO, and c) a stainless, fluted heavy Butler Creek barrel. I know some BC barrels don't work out well, but reportedly this rifle shoots win xpert into 1 MOA at 50 meters. It also likes velocitors, remington branded eley, and dynapoints. It only shoots so-so with blue and green label CCI, and stingers don't fit in the match chamber.

So anyway, I took it out of the stock to give it a cleaning and inspection, and I also want to remove all the scope stuff (including the base) to make sure everything is tight and loctited. Therefore, I'm curious what you guys know about the proper torque setting for a) the scope base screws that screw into the aluminum receiver, and b) the action screw for this type of synthetic stock (no metal pillar or anything).

Oh yeah, one other thing I wanted to know. I will zero for 50 meters, but if I want to try 100 meters, how many moa up do I need from the 50 m zero?

Thanks!

Congrats on the new gun!!

I don't know of a specific torque setting they should be at but I just use loctite and just tighten them up a bit. You don't want to tighten them up to much other wise they will strip. If you have loctite on it shouldn't come loose with normal use.

For the 50-100 yard zero check the ballistic charts at the top of the page but generally it is about 8" or so with standard veloctiy and around 5-6" with high velocity.
