Torque Screwdriver

Anyone in Ottawa West, Kanata, Stittsville have a torque screwdriver I could borrow? It's to mount a scope I need 25lb and 30lb. I messed up a scope years ago and I want to do it right!
 
May as well just head down to the local Cabela's and get the Wheeler torque driver. Much easier to have your own tools than borrowing them - just don't lend them out, and you'll never be without when you need them.
 
Thanks I did know that I can buy one :) but at $100 it's something I will probably never use again. I guess I can take it to the gunsmith.
 
Put the long end of the Allen wrench into the screw and tighten it with your thumb and finger until good and snug that way. Make sure all the gaps between the ring halves are even. Nothing more is needed.

You think you'd never need to use a torque driver again? They're not just for scope rings. Do you want to have to go to the gunsmith to properly tighten the action screws? ;)

Before I looked it up on Youtube I'd never heard of a torque screwdriver!
 
I bought a Utica torque limiting screwdriver on ebay. Was cheaper than the Wheeler, and looks like better build quality. Came with a certificate of calibration, made in the USA.
 
Snagged the wheeler FAT wrench kit last year for around $70 and it is extremely handy. Although I wouldn't hesitate to buy the fix-its if needed. I believe the small kits run around $100 US. May be a few retailers on here who sell em.
