Torque used to tighten scope rings

How much torque do you apply to tighten the rings on a scope without overdoing it, i.e. without damaging the scope?

Never used a torque wrench myself. Just get the screws as tight as you can with a screwdriver and use a bit of Lock-tite.

I was talking to the folks at weaver,and they said ,28 inch pounds on the rings.and 30, on the bases. By the way, I would never use loctite on any rings or bases.

if you take the body of a bic pen, place the long part of the allen key in it, you will get more torque
