Torque wrench for AR 15 barrel?

That will generate more then 55 ft/lbs on the barrel nut, but Aero must know that and did the math based on using their tool and BAR nut. I assumed you’re using their BAR nut as that’s why you’d call Aero.

Just remember to line up the tube notch as FyreFighter suggested.

Kratos your right im using there bar nut in their enhaced upper with the internal threads. According to my mathe it will generate 60 foot pounds when set at 55 foot pounds as their whrench is 1.5 inches from socket center to nut center.

Here’s a pic of handguard and nut, that came with it.

There is nothing to line up with. So is this the right nut?

Looks like the gas tube rides over the barrel nut. So you should be fine. That handguard just looks like it slips over the nut and clamps on. Tabs on the side of the handguard will keep it from rotating. I normally take something like a one piece scope mount and bridge the receiver to the handguard. So when I tighten it. It lines up.

Got it, thanks

Do you recomend a littke aeroshell grease when installing the barrel and barrel nut?

I have always used it on personal uppers or on uppers I’ve built for others. I bought the Aeroshell grease that a CGN’r sells on the EE here, he sells them in small quantities, I’ve got 35-40 uppers out of it so far and it was $5-10 if I remember correctly.

Exactly this, especially the method for lining up the handguard.
