Torquing - How are you geting it done?

I have a few inch/pound torque wrenches and a Seekonk preset 65" lbs T-handle wrench I got years ago with my Leupold 16X MK4.
I keep the Seekonk wrench in my pack and have always tightened my action screws to 65" lbs.

Also keep in mind what was said above regarding re-calibration of torque wrenches. They can go out of calibration.

Who does re calibration of torque wrenches?

Some places I worked had a "lab" that would do it.

I think it depends on the model of wrench you use, or choose to buy. The more pricey ones like Snap On, Mac Tools or my Torqueleader offer routine recalibration on their own products, other models might not offer the same service.

Maybe there is some independent place that does all makes, someone in the aircraft servicing industry might chime in.

Sometimes I think that so long as the wrench is repeatable over time, I’m less concerned about if 35 inch lbs on the graduated scale is actually a true 35 inch lbs-if that setting works for a specific gun I have I just want to be sure I getting that same torque the next time I use the tool.

I agree, as long as you are not getting into destructive torque ranges for your fastener. The important part is the even and repeatable torque ability.

I use one of these. Which wrench you use is not as important as your methods used imo. Hand tightening (assuming you're not captain hook) will suffice and may actually be as good for 4-6 screw type scope mounts.
