Toughest scope

Bushnill sure didn’t pass the Lead Sled tests.
Mr H and I calfed four of these in one outing.

IF there was ANY invention I would like to see "dis-invented" it would be the Lead Sled.

It is absolutely USELESS.

Rifles need to "free-recoil" for load development, and for consistency.

Lead Sleds aren't even good for paper weights ....

350 Mag - I kind of agree - but as I get older, have noticed stuff is not made to actually work or to be useful - is made to SELL - so long as people buy them, more will be made. Facts and experience do not matter, so long as sales story continues to be seen as "truth". Nicholsan files are the "best" - ask any older millwright - except now made in Brazil and Mexico - not USA; Weaver scopes have not been made in El Paso for decades; and so on - just the sales story at work - facts do not matter.

Schmidt Bender Klassik 6x42

8mm Magnum

Pounded the piss out of this scope, in a saddle scabbard, up and down the mountains, a few horse wrecks with it in the scabbard. Bounced off a few rocks. She just keeps ticking along.
I blew up a few scopes on the big kickers before I bought her, and I don't think I could kill one if I tried.
Not bad cash for a fantastic piece of glass either.
Leupold 1.5-5 was a good one on a 375 H&H that went threw a pile of rounds, but the S&B has had over 10,000 rounds of hard kicking rounds and has never lost zero so I suspect most will never run this amount of retina detaching rounds threw a rifle, little lone a the same scope.

interesting the sb 6x42 was used by some sniper units as well as the bushnell 3200 10x40 and it worked great for the feedback we had.

Ive not managed it on mine, though I have seen pics of stocks purportedly destroyed on one.- dan

I found when using my Palma rifle on a lead sled a dramatic difference point of aim versus a more conventional rifle rest and ear bags. Rifle shot considerably higher from the lead sled. This turned me off the one or two lead sleds our club kept in storage.

try with anything that affect the stock connection to the barrel like a bipod: it can do the same on the shift. lead sled should be used to tame the beast and helping the adjustment then you have to set up the same way you intend to shoot in real life to avoid any bad surprises ...

Exactly because it changes the torque on the recoil lug.

Unless your carrying your lead sled in the field and shooting off it...its useless.

Same as shooting off sandbags on a bench and then slapping a bipod on and going hunting.....it rarely works.

You have to zero the rifle under the conditions your going to be using it in "in the field".

Agree. I have used mine for load development with boomers, but always check group and zero without when I think I have the right load. - dan

Nightforce one of the best, running it on a 300win mag.Vector continental so far so awesome, running it on a 338 edge. Blew up 2 Vortex scopes, a strike eagle and a PSTII. on a 300win mag.
