Hello folks.

I am just looking for some info on this old Toz .22 I came across. I could find very little on the net about this. Its stamped "made in USSR" so I presume it was made for export, pre cold war? I really know nothing of it except that its a pretty cool old Russian rifle. I know that I have seen some with Baikal on the stock plate but this one looks much like the sks butt plate. Also there is no 3/8 dovetail rail on this one. Any information you may have or pics of yours would be appreciated. Thanks

It looks like an earlier, cheaper version of Toz 17.Made in 1950's maybe ?

Clean it well (soak the bolt) and see what kind of ammo it likes. Those rifles can be very accurate with proper ammo.

Be gentile on the stock-mine was so soft I almost ruined it while refinishing(I have a later 1970's model Toz 17)

thanks. I figured 50's. I am not sure if I will restore it or leave it as is. Will have to take it out shooting when its less blizzardy out.
